On April 26, 2024, Lankaran State University (LDU) and Lankaran-Astara Regional Youth and Sports Department jointly organized a scientific-practical conference on "Green economy and sustainable development"
The conference was opened by the advisor of the rector of Lankaran State University, prof. Mikayil Maharramov. Heard reports and held discussions. In addition to LSU, professors and teaching staff of other higher educational institutions of the country, young researchers presented their theses on the topic.
At the conference, employees of the Scientific Center for the Reconstruction of Post-conflict Territories of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education - leading researcher Ph.D. Firdovsi Shahbazov made a speech on "Normative legal basis of transition to green economy in Azerbaijan", senior scientific researcher Sabina Asadova made a speech on "Digitization of the agricultural sector for the development of a green economy" and junior scientific researcher Nigar Namig made a speech on "Prospects of tourism development in the conditions of green economy". All three employees of the Institute of Economics were awarded with a certificate for their active participation in the conference (economics.org.az).
