The authors of the book are the director general of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov), deputy for director general of the Institute for special projects, associate professor Allahyar Muradov and leading researcher, Ph.D. in economics Firdovsi Shahbazov
This study, which was carried out at the Institute of Economics on the order of the Ministry of Finance, was carried out with the aim of assessing the level of financial self-sufficiency in the economic regions of Azerbaijan, subordinate cities and administrative regions of the republic. The evaluation was carried out based on the methodology of the financial self-sufficiency index of the regions developed by the authors.
This type of comparative studies assumes serious practical importance. Their results can be useful during the preparation of practical management decisions on the issues of socio-economic development of the country's regions, including in supporting the economic development of superior pace in individual regions, in drawing up socio-economic development programs, and in allocating additional state funds for the development of different regions.
Although the research was conducted on the regions of Azerbaijan, the proposed approach, in principle, is universal and can be used in conducting interregional assessments in other countries (economics.com.)
