On September 8, 2026, the entrance exams for the doctoral program of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education in the specialty subject of the Doctor of Philosophy training program in economics were launched.
Admission to the doctoral program under the Doctor of Philosophy program is carried out in accordance with the decision “Admission to higher education institutions, scientific institutions and organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the preparation of PhD students for 2026”, approved by the order of the Cabinet of Ministers dated May 14, 2026.
During three days (September 8-9-10), entrance exams will be held in 7 specialties - Domestic Fiscal Policy and Public Finance, Economics of Technological Innovations, Economic Theory, General Economics, World Economy, Industrial Organization and Public Policy, Sectoral Economics.
Relevant examination commissions have been established under the chairmanship of the Executive Director of the Institute, Associate Professor Famil Rustamov. 35 applicants who have successfully passed the English language and philosophy subjects for admission to a PhD program are participating in the exams. The number of planned places is 24.
A number of innovations have been made in the process of admission to PhD studies at the Institute of Economics. Thus, innovations are being implemented to make the examination process more transparent and electronic. The names of the candidates taking the exam, ticket numbers, questions on the ticket, and the start and end times of the exam are reflected on the electronic board located in the examination hall. The entire process is carried out with the joint participation of all candidates.
Head of the Education Department of the Institute of Economics, Ph.D. Ellada Khankishiyeva said that the names of those admitted to PhD studies will be announced in the coming days (economics.org.az).
