On September 15, 2026, held a meeting at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education with a delegation of researchers from Turkey.
Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov), Director General of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, received a delegation comprising Cemal Akkush, Secretary-General of the Union of Yoruk Turkmen of the Turkic World (UYTTW); Mehmet Gokhan Ozbukchu, Director of the Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies; and Necmettin Ozdemir, Director of Foreign Policy at the Center for Alternative Studies.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of economic research, strategic studies, and academic and expert exchange.
The meeting was attended by Famil Rustamov, Executive Director of the Institute of Economics; department heads Allahyar Muradov, Rasmiyya Abdullayeva, Parviz Hasanov, and Mahir Zeynalov, including Laman Azizova, head of the International Relations Department at UYTTW.
Professor N. Muzaffarli briefed the guests on the Institute of Economics' activity areas, the fundamental scientific research being conducted, cooperation with government agencies, and scientific projects.
Researchers from Turkey shared insights regarding the activities of their respective institutions, projects involving the Turkic world, and international scientific events.
The meeting focused on expanding cooperation between the Institute of Economics and relevant scientific and research institutions in Turkey, as well as exploring opportunities for joint projects and events. Discussions particularly centered on researching various aspects of the Turkic world's economy and organizing joint congresses to study and promote the scholarly legacy of prominent economists from the Turkic world.
The parties emphasized that fostering scientific cooperation and conducting joint research and events would contribute to the further expansion of scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as economic research within the Turkic world (economics.org.az).
