The leading researcher of the Institute of Economics, associate professor E. Mammadzade, who spoke at the event, first of all congratulated the author of the book on behalf of the head of Institute and spoke about the importance of this scientific work. It was noted that in the book, the strategic importance of Sumgayit city in 
the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan was investigated in a complex and systematic way. For this purpose, the historical and economic aspects of the socio-economic development of Sumgayit city, showed the development features of the processes of creating the industrial potential and infrastructure of the city. In the presented book are presented the period of acceleration of the development of Sumgait as an industrial center, the role of Sumgait in the socio-economic development of independent Azerbaijan, as well as the factors determining the development of Sumgait as a modern city and a strong industrial center in detail (economics.com.az).
