On October 20, 2022, (SDU) held a republican scientific conference on "Actual problems of socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan" at Sumgayit State University that jointly organized by the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education
Employees of the Institute of Economics and SSU, Chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis Musa Guliyev, Chairman of the Agrarian Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis Tahir Rzayev, Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vahid Novruzov and economists from many higher educational institutions of our republic participated in the conference.
Rector of SSU, professor Elkhan Huseynov, who opened the event with his opening speech, gave detailed information about the activities and achievements of the higher educational institution headed by him, spoke about the attention and care of the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, to the development of science and education. He said that Sumgayit State University has become a prestigious scientific-educational center of the country and the region, and has signed bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements with many prestigious universities of our republic and the world.
The executive director of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Professor Mushfiq Atakishiyev spoke about the importance of the conference dedicated to the scientific discussion of the current problems of the socio-economic development of our country, and noted that implemented successful economic reforms have created conditions for the socio-economic development of our republic.
At the conference, heard the reports by Musa Guliyev on the "Prospects of socio-economic development of Azerbaijan in the face of global challenges", by Tahir Rzayev on "The role of the agricultural sector in raising socio-economic development to a new level in Azerbaijan", by Vahid Novruzov "Transparency factor of the economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan". Head of the department “Finance and accounting” of SSU Logman Abdullayev gave a report on "The role of the guarantee mechanism in the development of credit relations in the Republic of Azerbaijan".
Then the scientific conference continued its work for two days in 4 sections. Up to 150 reports and theses from 33 scientific and higher education institutions of our republic were accepted by the Conference Organizing Committee (economics.com.az).
