On October 14, 2022, held a republican conference on "Future economic development and priorities of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" under the Ministry of Science and Education, jointly organized by the Institute of Economics and "Nakhchivan" University. A group of scientists of the Institute of Economics, professors and teachers of the university, students and graduate students took part in the event organized at "Nakhchivan" University
At the opening of the conference, rector of "Nakhchivan" University, Associate Professor Nurlana Aliyeva said that economy is one of the areas that was developed in a balanced way in the autonomous republic during the years of independence. Speaking about the tasks facing higher education institutions and scientific research institutes in the context of the priorities of the modern era, the rector emphasized that the joint scientific conference, where the results of research conducted on the sustainable and innovative economic development of the autonomous republic and other relevant topics will be presented, aims to contribute to the work done in this direction. Noting that the scientists of the Institute of Economics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the conference, N. Aliyeva expressed confidence that interesting scientific discussions will be held around the reports included in the program and wished success to the work of the conference.
Then, the general director of the Institute of Economics under the Ministry of Science and Education, professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) spoke about the importance of the formation of a scientific environment in the regions. In this regard, he highly appreciated the initiative of "Nakhchivan" University regarding holding a joint conference and noted that they are always open to cooperation as a scientific research institute. Prof. N. Muzaffarli pointed out that the provision of economic development is one of the priorities of the state policy, and talked about the relevance of the topic of the conference. Emphasizing that conducting research related to the priorities set by the head of the country in the field of sustainable economic development is the main direction of scientific activity in scientific-research and higher education institutions, the Director General of the Institute evaluated the special importance given to such topics in "Nakhchivan" University in recent periods as commendable.
Speaking at the conference, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Education of the university, Associate Professor Huseyn Bagirsoylu spoke about the main goals of the multifaceted economic development strategy implemented in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, industrialization policy, and opportunities to increase export potential.
Then scientific reports were heard at the conference. Department head of the Institute of Economics, under the Ministry of Science and Education, Professor Tarbiz Aliyev, spoke on the topic "Organizational and economic possibilities of the innovative development of the economy of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" and Shafa Aliyev, professor of the Sumgayit State University, made speech on "Actual problems of the economic development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in the conditions of new challenges". A wide range of opinions were exchanged around the reports, and answered questions.
The conference was continued with section meetings. Executive director of the Institute of Economics, prof. Mushfiq Atakishiyev, department heads - prof. Fuad Ganbarov, Assoc.professor, Allahyar Muradov and Assoc.professor, Parviz Hasanov delivered reports on current economic issues. Held extensive discussions around the reports.
In the end, about 40 books printed on the basis of scientific researches of the Institute of Economics were donated to "Nakhchivan" University.
Conference participants visited Duzdag Physiotherapy Center and a number of historical monuments (economics.com.az).
