On June 20, 2022, held the next online scientific seminar at the Institute of Economics of ANAS. Employees of a number of higher education institutions also attended the event chaired by the Director General of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov)
Minara Agayeva, a scientific researcher at the Department of Business Environment and Entrepreneurship Development of the Institute of Economics, made a presentation on the results of a study on "Quality of Life in Azerbaijan - 2020: Towards the Inclusive Development." The speaker said that the study measures the ranking of economic regions, republican cities and administrative districts in Azerbaijan on the quality of life, covers 13 economic regions of the country, 73 republican cities and administrative districts. The city of Baku was not included in the study because it differed radically from other regions of the country in terms of level of development and quality of life.
Giving detailed information on the methodology of calculating the Quality of Life Index (QI), the speaker said that the index is grouped into 7 sub-indices based on 36 indicators: Material Welfare Sub-Index (MW), Health Sub-Index (HS), Education Sub-Index (ES), Security sub-index (SS), Family resiliency sub-index (FR), Environmental sub-index (ES) and Leisure time opportunities sub-index (LTO). In addition to the members of the creative staff, 13 well-known experts also took part in the survey, which was conducted in order to give weight to the sub-indices and their sub-indices that form the LQİ. This index is the result of a comprehensive study conducted at the Institute of Economics of ANAS in order to make a comparative assessment of the quality of life in the regions and cities, and the assessments were conducted on the basis of LQİ prepared by specialists of the Institute.
