Leading research fellow of the Institute of Economics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Nasimi Ahmadov participated in the international virtual training course on "Monetary policy" organized by the Joint Vienna Institute of Austria and the Institute for Capacity Development of the International Monetary Fund on April 25 - May 6, 2022
The two-week course discussed monetary policy regimes, monetary transmission mechanisms and the role of monetary policy in macroeconomic stabilization.
Participants were provided with with an understanding of making monetary policy decisions to deliver price stability and meeting other objectives under various regimes, transmitting these decisions to the real economy, assessing the response of the economy and monetary policy to macroeconomic shocks within different monetary policies. The course was held in an atmosphere of interesting and useful discussions.
