On March 17, 2022, held the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of ANAS. A number of issues were discussed at the meeting chaired by the Director General of the Institute, Doctor of Ecoomics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov)
The Director General informed about the appointment of Mirvari Gazanfarli, a young employee of the Institute, as the new head of the Department “Education”.
Prof. Nazim Muzaffarli spoke about the proposed changes in the structure of the Institute and its necessity, noting that preliminary discussions were held with the heads of scientific departments. The new structure of the scientific departments of the institute, proposed in accordance with the modern requirements and challenges of economics, also the innovations related to the name of each department brought to the attention of the members of the Scientific Council. Following the discussions, taking into account the changes the new structure was approved by the decision of the Scientific Council. Also will be asked to approve the new structure by the Presidium of ANAS.
Member of the Scientific Council, Doctor of Economics, Professor Tofig Huseynov made a report on strengthening the requirements for dissertations, spoke about the main problems observed in the stages of writing scientific works, discussion in departments and seminars, and defense, also expressed his views on their elimination.
At the meeting, a member of the "Expert Commission against Plagiarism" established to check scientific works on plagiarism at the Institute Ph.D. in Economics, Emin Mammadzadeh gave detailed information about the main working principles of the commission, new rules and appeals.
In connection with both issues prof. Tarbiz Aliyev, corresponding member of ANAS, prof. Shahbaz Muradov, Tanriverdi Pasha and others spoke, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the requirements for dissertations, improving the quality of dissertations, proper observance of relevant rules in the discussion stages and the fight against plagiarism.
