A commemorative event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide held at the Institute of Economics of ANAS on February 25, 2022. The event was attended by employees of the institute
First, the memory of the victims of the Khojaly genocide and all our martyrs who died for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The event was opened by the Director General of the Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economics, prof. Nazim Muzaffarli. Then Tanriverdi Pasha, a leading researcher of the Institute, chairman of the Trade Union, made a report on the Khojaly genocide. He said that the Khojaly genocide was the most terrible tragedy in our history, and that peaceful and unarmed people were deliberately killed with special cruelty. It was noted that 613 people, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people were brutally killed, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents and 130 children lost one of their parents. That night, 1,275 civilians were taken prisoner, and the fate of 150 of them is still unknown.
Other speakers told about the tragedies historically inflicted on our people by Armenians, the occupation of our lands from time to time, and assessed the Khojaly tragedy as one of the most terrible genocides of mankind. It was noted that our people should never forget what happened and draw conclusions from it. The victims of Khojaly, all our martyrs have been avenged and our occupied lands have been liberated. We have achieved this as a result of the glorious victory of the brave Azerbaijani Army during the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev. Currently, restoration and reconstruction work is underway in Karabakh, and soon will begin the settlement.
