On February 21, held the next online scientific seminar at the Institute of Economics of ANAS
The event was chaired by the Director General of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli and was attended by employees of the institute and a number of higher education institutions.
Leading researcher of the "Finance, monetary policy" department of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics Sulduz Salimov made a report on "Improving the position of Azerbaijan on the Environmental Efficiency Index" at the seminar. Reporting on the Environmental Efficiency Index (EEI), its methodology and research in this area, the rapporteur said that the EEI 2020 has 32 indicators on 11 aspects and two political goals, based on the sustainability of the ecosystem, covering the environment and the level of service of natural resources.
The researcher noted that the complexity behind the world's environmental problems can be dangerous and huge. Discussions on sustainable development can be linked to uncertainty about the nature of environmental problems and misidentified solutions. For this reason, it is extremely important for those working abroad and within the country to study in detail the environmental indicators. The rankings in the report are especially useful for promoting healthy competition between countries.
