Academician Arif Hashimov: "The structure of scientific institutes must be updated in accordance with the requirements of the present-time"
On June 8, 2022, held the general meeting of the Institute of Economics of ANAS. With the participation of the President of ANAS, Academician Arif Hashimov the event opened by the Director General of the Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov)
Prof. Nazim Muzaffarli gave information about the structural reforms carried out at the Institute and approved by the Presidium of ANAS. He said that one department was abolished and were renamed a number of other departments. There will be 12 scientific departments and 1 scientific center. These are - Theoretical Foundations of Economic Policy, Inclusive Social Development, Monetary and Fiscal Regulation Problems, Regulation of Business Environment and Entrepreneurship Development, Innovation Management and Problems of Scientific Development, Problems of Demography and Employment, Economy of Service’s areas, Regulation of Foreign Economic Activity, Economic Problems of Agrarian Sector, Industrial Policy and Investment Problems, Problems of Regional Development and Utilization of Natural Resources, Mathematical Support of Economic Research departments and Post-Conflict Areas Rehabilitation Research Center.
The Director General said that personnel reforms have also been implemented at the Institute. Thus, Doctor of Economics, Professor Mushfig Atakishiyev, has been appointed Executive Director of the Institute of Economics, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor Allahyar Muradov, Advisor of the Director for the Special Research Projects, Ph.D. in Economics, Assoc.prof., Parviz Hasanov head of the Department of Economy of Service’s areas, and Tarana Ibadova assistant to the general director.
Academician Arif Hashimov noted the importance and significance of the structural changes carried out at the Institute of Economics in accordance with the requirements of the present day and modern challenges. He stressed the place and role of fundamental researches conducted by the Institute of Economics in the development of economics and the country's economy in Azerbaijan. The academician expressed support for giving more independence to the Institutes of ANAS in the management and decision-making processes, as well as in funding, conducting scientific researches and implementing projects.
Then, the Executive Director of the Institute of Economics, Professor Mushfig Atakishiyev spoke about the responsibility of his new task, the main tasks and goals, the work to be done, the importance of improving the quality of researches carrying out in departments, the organization of scientific discussions, opportunities for effective utilization of human resources.
Adviser of the Director for Special Research Projects of the Institute of Economics, Assoc.prof., Allahyar Muradov gave information about the projects implemented by the order of government agencies, also the possibility of participation of employees of the institute in various new projects, grant competitions announced by various agencies. 
In the end, prof. N.Muzaffarli (Imanov) made a speech on the international scientific-practical conference “ECONOMY OF CULTURE: IMPULSES OF DEVELOPMENT FROM SHUSHA" with the joint organization of Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Shusha, in Shusha, the cultural capital of our country Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ADA University, Karabakh Revival Fund and Institute of Economics of ANAS in Shusha on September 18-19, 2022, in Shusha, the cultural capital of our country. He said that the conference will focus on building a new economy and development of culture in Karabakh, will be held discussions on the formation of a creative economy in Shusha, and will be heard reports. Well-known experts and researchers from abroad are expected to attend the scientific-practical conference that assumes international importance. 
The general director N.Muzaffarli (Imanov), on the occasion of anniversaries presented flowers to the corresponding member of ANAS, professor Akif Musayev’s 75, prof. Tofig Huseynov’s 85, prof.Tarbiz Aliyev’s 75, Agarza Rustamov’s 70th, and General Manager Shakir Aliyev’s 60 and said they would be awarded with cash prizes. A scientific session will be held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the corresponding member of ANAS, professor Akif Musayev on the basis of the decision of the Presidium of ANAS (economics.com.az).
