On December 16, 2021, Sumgayit State University (SSU) and Yildiz Technical University of Turkey jointly organized an international scientific conference in an online format entitled "Problems of sustainable economic development in the information society." The event was attended by General Director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov), Chairman of the Union of Economists of Azerbaijan, Academician Ziyad Samadzade, from research institutes, universities and many countries: Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, China, Iran. and a group of economists from Uzbekistan
Opening of the conference, the rector of SSU, Professor Elkhan Huseynov and the rector of Yildiz Technical University of Turkey, Professor Tamer Yilmaz spoke about the importance of the conference and the cooperation between the universities of the two brotherly countries.
Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) spoke about the successful economic reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in our liberated lands, the potential of the region and future development prospects, the construction of a new economy in Karabakh.
Then heard the scientific reports of scientists - academician Ziyad Samadzade, professor of Yildiz Technical University Murat Anil Merjan, professor of Moscow State University Mikhail Kulakov and others. Professor Tarbiz Aliyev, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Monopoly Regulation Problems of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, spoke on "Directions for increasing the role of entrepreneurship in strengthening the economy in the context of the information society." It should be noted that 142 reports and abstracts from 19 universities of 8 foreign countries (Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus, People's Republic of China, Iran, Uzbekistan) and 35 scientific and higher education institutions of the country were included in the agenda of the conference.
