The leading researcher of the "Globalization and international economic relations" department of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Ph.D. in Economics, assoc.prof., Agil Eyvazov made a report on "Analysis of the index of attraction to international trade and improving the position of Azerbaijan in this ranking."
The researcher noted that the index of international trade attractiveness for the first time was published in 2008 by the World Economic Forum. The next report was published in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016. The report, published in 2016, and covers 136 countries. In this index, which is based on four sub-indices and 57 sub-indicators, Azerbaijan ranked 71st, in 2016.
Emphasizing that he is a member of the working group "Trade at the Border" at the State Customs Committee, researcher A.Eyvazov informed about the Digital Trade Hub, AZEXPORT.AZ - "MADE IN AZERBAIJAN" portal, Green Corridor clearance system, the latest innovations in the customs system. He noted that it will play an important role in improving its position in the rankings. Giving information about the results of the study, the rapporteur proposed to submit a project to the State Customs Committee for simplification of foreign trade procedures, determination of optimal customs tariffs, improvement of Azerbaijan's position in relevant international rankings together with the Institute of Economics of ANAS and Prof. Nazim Imanov highly praised the initiative.
