The book "Regional economic development and diversification in Azerbaijan - 2020" was published by the director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) and the deputy director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, associate professor Allahyar Muradov
The monograph was published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of ANAS.
This research was carried out at the Institute of Economics of ANAS in order to assess the level of economic development and diversification in the economic regions, subordinate cities and administrative regions of Azerbaijan. The assessment was based on the Regional Economic Development and Diversification Index developed by the authors.
This type of comparative research has great practical importance. Their results can be useful in the preparation of practical management decisions on socio-economic development of the country's regions, as well as in supporting the rapid development of the economy in individual regions, developing socio-economic development programs, allocating additional public funds for development.
Although the research is conducted by regions of Azerbaijan, the proposed approach is, in principle, universal and allows for inter-regional assessments in other countries (economics.com.az).
