In the report of “Doing Business” carried out scientific discussions on Azerbaijan's position on the tax payment index

  On May 31, 2021, held the next online scientific seminar at the Institute of Economics of ANAS. Opening the seminar, the director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, D.Sc., professor Nazim Muzaffarli gave information about the main topic of discussion of the event and the speaker.
  Yashar Mammadov, Ph.D., Associate Professor, head of the Department "Finance, Monetary Policy" of the Institute made a report on "Directions for further improvement of the position of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the tax payment index in the report "Doing Business".
  In the report of “Doing Business 2019”, Azerbaijan showed a fairly positive change in the tax payment index, ranking 28th out of 190 countries with 85.23 points. However, in 2020, Azerbaijan dropped to 12th place in the ranking of this indicator, ranked in the 40th. Then the speaker answered questions, held interesting and wide-ranging discussions on the topic, including tax reforms in Azerbaijan, tax rates and tax burden, tax policy and social obligations of the state, tax payments, business convenience and stimulating role of taxes (economics.com.az).
