On April 22, 2021, held the next online meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of ANAS with the "Zoom" program. The online event, leading by the director of the institute, D.Sc. of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov), discussed a number of issues, including the topics of thesis of doctoral students and Ph.D. students admitted in the 2020-2021 academic year
The head of the Education Department, Associate Professor Gulsura Mehdiyeva said that 13 people were admitted to the doctoral program of the Institute of Economics for the 2020-2021 academic year, and 4 people to the doctoral program. The head of the institute met with each of them and talked about the selection and identification of current research topics in accordance with the requirements of the time.
Then, each of the topics on the 17 dissertations proposed by the Scientific Council was widely discussed and approved with the participation of supervisors, doctoral and Ph.D. students. For the first time, the topic of several dissertations was to determine the economic potential of the economically liberated territories of Azerbaijan after the 44-day successful and victorious Patriotic War, the reconstruction and prospects for future development. Thus, the topic of 5 dissertations covering the main scenarios of economic development in the post-conflict areas of the Republic of Azerbaijan, mechanisms for attracting foreign investment to the region, directions of demographic security, assessment of tourism potential in post-conflict areas, development of rural tourism were approved.
In the end, by the decision of the Scientific Council, the collective monograph "Improving Azerbaijan's position on the Global Competitiveness Index" prepared by the staff of the Institute of Economics under the leadership of Professor G. Yuzbashiyeva was recommended for publication (economics.com.az).
