Director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli made a speech at the online event
On November 18, the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) organized online discussions on "The economy of Karabakh after the war: The Regional Innovation and Technology Center and as an important link in the value chain."
The event was moderated by UNEC Rector, Professor Adalat Muradov, attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy Niyazi Safarov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Tahir Mirkishili, Director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) and Head of UNEC Research Center for Knowledge Economics., Associate Professor Altay Ismayilov.
At the event widely discussed the future economy of Karabakh, economic recovery of the liberated territories, development prospects. Director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, prof. Muzaffarli spoke about the real potential of the Karabakh economy, the main goals, the need for a complete reconstruction of the region's economy and social life, the need for serious scientific research and the work to be done. The professor also gave detailed information about the book "Reconstruction of post-conflict areas of Azerbaijan": conceptual bases, published in 2010, and the Scientific Center for Reconstruction of Post-Conflict Areas, recently established at the Institute of Economics of ANAS.
The head of the UNEC Research Center for Knowledge Economics, assoc. prof., Altay Ismayilov made a presentation on "The economy of Karabakh after the war: The Regional Innovation and Technology Center and as an important link in the value chain." Chairman of the parliamentary committee Tahir Mirkishili noted that in the pre-occupation period, the territory of Karabakh accounted as the 15-20 percent of the country's economy, and its share in ensuring the country's food security was about 15-17 percent. Deputy Minister of Economy Niyazi Safarov informed the participants that the model of economic development defined and formed by the President of the Republic and the economy in the liberated territories will be based on the basic principles of this model.
