On February 19, 2020, held the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of ANAS. At the meeting, the report was presented by Ph.D., Mahir Zeynalov, senior scientific researcher of the department of “Entrepreneurship and Monopoly Regulation” of the Institute. He said that increasing the role of entrepreneurship in ensuring sustainable economic development in Azerbaijan, especially turning small and medium-sized businesses into a key driver, is one of the priorities of economic reforms led by President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking at the conference dedicated to the results of the first year of implementation of the “State Program on socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2019-2023”, the head of state highlighted the priority directions of entrepreneurship development in the country.
In his report, Mahir Zeynalov spoke about the real results of successful economic reforms and entrepreneurship in the country. He stressed that reforms to stimulate the development of entrepreneurship in the country in the business environment in Azerbaijan.
The reporter presented the World Bank's Doing Business 2020 report, noting that Azerbaijan is in the top 20 most reformist countries in 2019. He noted that reforms should be continued in the country, the economy of Azerbaijan should be further liberalized in the coming years and the business environment should be improved.
