On February 5, 2020, held the next meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. Opening the event, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev said that at the meeting will be listened the report of the Department of Social Sciences and the Nakhchivan Department of ANAS reflecting the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the National Academy of Sciences in 2019
Then, the first vice-president of ANAS, chairman of the Department of Social Sciences, academician Isa Habibbeyli presented the department's report. According to the scientist, here gave special attention to the decisions and orders, state programs and strategies of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions of the head of ANAS, including decrees of General Meeting of Academy, and the Presidium of ANAS. At the meeting noted that in 2019, at the scientific institutions of the departments are investigated 33 problems on 8 scientific directions, 305 problems on 132 themes, 127 problems on 45 themes and 212 stages are completed. Published 2185 works of the department staff. 9 of them published aboard, 142 books and monographs, 391 of 1296 scientific works and 58 of 302 thesis published aboard. 54 scientific works published in magazines with impact factor and 876 times referred to the works by our scientific researchers. At present, in the department are studying 76 students for doctoral degree, 259 students for Ph.D. degree and 11 students for masters.
Speaker noted that in the reporting year, scholars from the research institutions of the department corporate with Turkey, Russia, USA, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Iran, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Egypt, Poland, Bulgaria, Kuwait, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Saudi Arabia and other countries cooperate with scientific centers and international organizations. He added that 20 international conferences, 2 international forums, 2 international symposiums, 3 international seminars, 22 republican conferences, 32 scientific seminars, 8 sessions and 12 anniversaries were held last year by scientific research institutions of the Department of Social Sciences.
The director of the Institute N.Muzaffarli (Imanov) made a presentation, gave information about the scientific researches and results of the Institute and made suggestions on new mechanism of financing of scientific activity. The proposals were met with interest.
The discussions were attended by the members of the Presidium and directors of the departments of scientific institutions. By the decision of the Presidium, approved the report on the activities of the Department of Social Sciences in 2019, and decided to include the scientific results in the annual report of ANAS. In the decision noted carrying out scientific researches based on Azerbaijani ideology, providing research direction to the socio-economic and cultural development of an independent Azerbaijan state, more active integration of department scientists into international scientific programs, expanding contacts with local and international scientific organizations (economics.com.az).
