On January 30, 2020, held the next meeting of the Academic Council of the Institute of Economics of ANAS. At the meeting, chaired by the director of the Institute, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) discussed a number of issues. First of all, the director gave information about the carried out research works and the activities of creative teams at the Institute
Deputy Director of Science of the Institute of Economics, ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Allahyar Muradov made a speech on the scientific and organizational activity for 2020. He said that in the reporting year, at the Institute will continue the research on “Socio-economic development of Azerbaijan and further improvement of its position in the international comparative rankings (2019-2021)”. For this purpose, formed the working groups too. The research is based on the implementation of measures to “Increasing the business environment in the Republic of Azerbaijan and improving our country's position in international rankings”, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 13, 2016. At the Institute are conducted researches on 25 rankings, 4 of them are the products of the institute.
One of the main requirements of the Presidium of ANAS to institutes is to improve the quality of scientific research. At the end of this year, will be evaluated the quality of final reports on research conducted in the departments of the Institute. Based on the reports proposals and recommendations will be sent to the relevant government agencies. The results will be printed as a book.
At the meeting Councilor of the Dissertation Council, Ph.D., Assoc.prof., Sevda Seyidova informed about the order of dissertations submitted to the Dissertation Council, organization of departmental discussions, seminars and defenses on the basis of new rules approved by the Higher Attestation Commission.
According to the decision of the Scientific Council, the head of department of the Institute of Economics, ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Doctor of Economics, Professor Shahbaz Muradov presented the book “The Triumph of the 50th Anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev's Development Strategy”.
At the Scientific Council renamed the journal “Scientific Works” as the “Economic Growth and Public Welfare”. Editorial staff of the magazine, which is the editor-in-chief is the prof., Nazim Muzaffarli has also been updated. Also, D.Sc., Prof. Mushfig Atakishiyev appointed the Deputy of Chief Editor, Ph.D., Assoc. prof., Nasimi Ahmadov appointed Executive Secretary of the magazine.
According to the decision of the Scientific Council, the senior researcher of the department “Globalization and international economic relations”, Ph.D. in Economics., Tabriz Yadigarov's monograph on “Customs statistics and modern information technology” (Scientific Editor: Prof. Akif Musayev, Prof. Jamila Namazova, reviewers: Doctor of Economics, Prof. Sakit Yagubov, Doctor of Economics, Prof. Arif Shakaraliyev, Ph.D. in Economics., assoc.prof., Kamran Abdullayev) recommended for printing (economics.com.az).
