On September 10, 2019, the Eurasian Economic Forum started its work in Xi'an, China. The main topic of the forum, which will last until September 12, 2019, is a cooperation and development between the two countries as part of the initiative "One Belt and One Road”. The director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli and head of the department of international relations of the Institute, associate professor Rufat Efendiyev also participate in the event
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Premier of the State Council (Prime Minister) of China Hu Chunhua said that the Eurasian 
Economic Forum plays an important role in establishing and expanding economic relations between participating countries. A number of documents were signed within the framework of this international project. The construction of the railway from China to Europe is continued.
The purpose of a two-year forum in the city of Xi'an, where the historical Silk Road was initiated, in the frame of "One Belt, One Road" to promote co-operation between their individual cities and regions, international organizations and large companies, to provide a platform for dialogue and mutual cooperation to discuss issues in this regard.
The event was attended by representatives from 54 countries, including finance, ecology, culture, tourism, science and technology, education, e-commerce and more issues are discussed. A meeting of the preparatory committee of the International Silk Road Science Academy will also be held as part of the event (economics.com.az).
