On March 1, 2019, director of the Department of Economics of the US Embassy in Azerbaijan, Dr. Castin Berg met with the director of the Institute, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli at the Institute of Economics of ANAS. Held a detailed discussion of the economic development issues on the "National Economy and Strategic Road Map on Major Sectors of the Economy", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 6, 2016
During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on especially fundamental-theoretical studies and on scientific-research works carried out at the Institute of Economics of ANAS. Innovative research of the institute, including the evaluation of the level of liberalism and dirigisme of the economy, and discussed the investigations on determination of the Astana indicators to the post-oil economy transition, noted that these studies assumes great importance for the international expert community.
Also held discussions on “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan and further improvement of position in international ratings”, and on the subject of complex research to be carried out in the Institute of Economics of ANAS during 2019-2021.
