This idea was said at the international conference dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Institute of Economics ANAS by the director of the Institute, Doctor of Economy, Professor Nazim Imanov. In his report, the scientist gave extensive information about the innovative projects implemented by the institute in the contemporary period, carried out researches, and the future works should be done
"Institute of Economics is one of the country's leading scientific centers in the field of economics", he noted. According to him, this organization consists of 13 scientific and 6 administrative departments, and has 200 employees. 19 of them are Doctors of Economics and 52 are economists. Professor N.Imanov noted the Institute's role in the implementation of "Strategic Road Map on Economic Reforms".
According to the scientist, as in other institutions of ANAS, the Institute of Economics conducts research in priority directions that meet world challenges. The scientific articles prepared by researchers are published in the world-renowned, highly-indexed magazines.
He gave a lecture on "discussion and award-winning yards" at the Institute of Economics, saying that there established a discussion club "Creative Economics", "Doctors" and "Young Scholars". These clubs hold seminars and presentations on relevant issues and exchange views with the participants. Representatives of state and government agencies, as well as experts from outside organizations are invited to the discussions.
The speaker said that for the first time in Azerbaijan, the Institute of Economics has participated in the preparation of a state program based on the order. In 2017, the Central Bank and “MasterCard Advisors” have come together to develop a "State Program on Digital Payment Expansion in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018-2020". The program was approved 10 days ago by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The director of the Institute informed the participants of the event about the perspectives and goals of the organization headed by him. The main goal is to turn the Institute of Economic Studies into a major economic research center in Azerbaijan: "We want to build an institution where scientists and experts are distinguished by the innovation and constructiveness of their research."
