On December 27, 2017, held a scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani People's Republic (ANR) at the Institute of Economics, ANAS. Let us note that on the basis of the decree by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "On the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani People's Republic" dated May 16, 2017, another event related to the anniversary held in accordance with the plan of events drawn up by the Presidium of ANAS.
Opening the conference with introductory speech, the director of the Institute of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli not only appreciated the establishment of the ADR as the most glorious page of our history, but also noted the importance of a deep study of the economy from a scientific point of view during the ADR. He 
stressed that in this area most of the work falls to the share of the Institute of Economics.
Then the leading researcher of the Institute of Economics, Ph.D. in Economics, Seyfaddin Samandarov made a presentation on "Economic reforms in the period of the Azerbaijani People's Republic". He spoke about the founders and members of the Azerbaijani People's Republic, on the proclamation of Azerbaijan's state independence in Tbilisi on May 28, 1918, the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the liberation of Baku from the Armenian-Bolshevik occupation by the Caucasian Islamic Army under the leadership of Nuri Pasha, on the transfer of the government from Tbilisi to Ganja, 
then to Baku, as well as on events implemented in the field of state building in a short period of time. Including at the conference, the listeners were given information on the activities of the Azerbaijani Parliament, the government's policy regarding the refugee army that arose as a result of the Armenian aggression, as well as measures taken to strengthen the state's economic independence.
Speakers at the conference - Professor Isa Aliyev, Ph.D. in Economics Samira Abasova, Agil Asadov, Ilkin Sultanly, Jalil Guliyev, Tanriverdi Pasha, Chingiz Bakhysh and others stressed the importance of creating the ADR from the point of view of the history of our state, and also emphasized the unselfish participation and the great role of the intelligentsia of that period in this matter.
