On May 20-21, 2016, with the organization of Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Asian Development Bank and the Economic 
Research Center of the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Kazakhstan held the international seminar on the theme of “Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan: structural and economic transformation, market institutions, legal and regulatory framework, and creation of the new jobs”. Director of the Institute of Economics, ANAS, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli and Ph.D. in Economics, Rufat Efendiyev also attended the seminar.
Professor, Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) moderated the seminar of session "Small and medium-sized businesses and better jobs", attended by representatives from Kazakhstan and Japan. Also Ph.D. in Economics Rufat Efendiyev participate in discussions of development of labor market and the problems in the same sphere (economics.com.az).
