Heydar Aliyev Center hosted a scientific-practical seminar titled "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism".
Speaking at the seminar first deputy director of the center Adil Karimli said that the multiculturalism has deep roots in Azerbaijan, adding that National Leader Heydar Aliyev played a great role in promotion of multiculturalism. Adil Karimli said that the seminar was dedicated to an actual and important topic, which is widespread in the society, widely promoted and identified as one of the priorities of the state policy.Addressing the scientific-practical seminar, State Adviser of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Multinational, Multicultural and Religious Affairs, Academician Kamal Abdullayev
stated that Heydar Aliyev has chosen clear ideological target for further successful development of Azerbaijan and improved multiculturalism tradition of Azerbaijan, which has been formed over centuries by his far-sighted and wise policy and raised it to a new stage for its quality.According to Kamal Abdullayev, the most important point in the protection of the multicultural traditions by the state is that this issue has been reflected in the Constituion and several other legal documents through the initiatives of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Thus, the principle of tolerabce that is the basis of multiculturalism policy has been included in several articles of the Constitution. Therefore, Heydar Aliyev can be considered political founder of Azerbaijani multiculturalism.State Adviser noted political direction carried out under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of protection and development of multicultural traditions of Azerbaijani people is being successfully developed by President Ilham Aliyev in a new stage.K.Abdullayev stressed one of the extremely important factors in moral and political development of Azerbaijan is regular holding of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum at the initiative of and with participation of President Ilham Aliyev since 2011.According to him, many people in different corners of the globe appreciating true justice, recognize our country as the center, which reached the image of the indestructible multicultural state . We can safely say that, the Azerbaijani multiculturalism has become one of the major strokes of the political image of the country. One of the wishes of the founder of Azerbaijani multiculturalism was exactly to do that.
