On December 13, 2016, at the Dissertation Council of the Institute of Economics ANAS, held the defense of two dissertations
The meeting held under the chairmanship of director of the Institute of 
Economics, Professor, Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) initially defended Samira Zafar Jafarova on specialty 5312.01 – “General Economy”, on the theme of “The ways of improving competitive ability of economy of Azerbaijan under the condition of strengthening of foreign economic relations” (Scientific adviser - Doctor of Economics, professor G.Z.Yuzbashiyeva). The dissertation work developed at the Institute of Economics. 
Scientific Councilor Ph.D. in Economics, Fargana Musayeva gave information about defender and then Samira Zafar Jafarova spoke about the urgency of the work, investigation level of the problem, duties and purposes of the work, the main scientific innovation of the work, the context of investigation, and talked about the conclusions and purposes.
Later, the candidate answered the questions addressed to her by the members of the council. The official opponents - Doctor of Economics, Fuad Gambarov and Ph.D. in Economics, Emin Garibli reasonably gave their suggestions and comments. The leading organization is the Baku State University, the department “World Economy”. At the meeting also noted opinions on author's abstracts. Samira Jafarova broadly answered to the questions and comments by opponents, leading agencies and responders.
In the second part of the meeting, defended Huseyn Ahmad Ahmazadeh on the theme of “Finance problems of development of regional entrepreneurship in the Iran Islamic Republic” (Scientific advisers - Doctor of Economics, professor A.Kh.Nuriyev and Ph.D. in Economics, professor assistant A.M.Asadov). The dissertation work developed at the Institute of Economics.

We should note that the discussions were very interesting and beside with the noted comments and suggestions candidates’ dissertation works meet the requirements of the High Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the end, dissertation works were confirmed by close votes of members of the Dissertation Council (economics.com.az).
