Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) made a speech on the theme of “National resources, material production, strategies of values and economic development” at the international conference.
On December 22, 2015, at the Azerbaijan State Economic University held on the international conference on the theme of “Political economy: modern problems and perspectives” dedicated to the 400th anniversary of “Political economy”. An event opened by rector professor Adalat Muradov and he talked about the maintenance, the historical development way of the science of economic theory. Then Alexandre Buzgalin professor at the Moscow State University named after M.V.Lomonosov made a speech on the theme of “Political economy: investigation potential of global capitalism” and Gergy Tsagalov professor of the International University of Moscow made a speech on the theme of “Seventh formation”.
Professor Nazim Muzzaffarli (Imanov) director of the Institute of Economy made a presentation on the theme of “National resources, material production, strategies of values and economic development”. He talked about the fund of national resource, global resource, and noted that material production (labor) does not increase the global resource (global value): it’s main maintenance is “shovelling” the earth. He noted that material production changes the forms among the individuals and social groups, 
also changes its distribution among the religious of countries and states. Unfortunately, most of our economists still have not ceased to be dependent on ideology - the exaggeration of the role of material production in economic development. Which the same ideology - the ideology of exaggeration of the role of material production had contributed to the collapse of the Soviet economy.
The main issue in the report by Professor Nazim Muzaffarli was: what kind of activities are more efficient in terms of redistribution of global wealth (value) in favor of the state?
For answering this question Rapporteur brought comparisons of 3 main sectors’ of economy - industry, agriculture and services areas in contribution (in the possible contribution) in the development of the national economy.
The professor believes that in terms of Azerbaijan's GDP per capita economic prospects of countries that are approximately at the same level on a par with them as follows: in the near future more successes will be in those countries that have strategic priority of structural policy is the services areas and in the services areas also the countries with intellectual power.
It is also examining the scope of a potential comparative advantage in Azerbaijan it is necessary to focus on the service sector, which include such promising areas as interstate transportation, and tourism. (economics.com.az).
