The International Conference on the theme of “Islamic finance: the present condition and the future expectations”
On February 19, 2015s, held on the International Conference on the theme of “Islamic finance: the present condition and the future expectations”. The conference has organized together with the Institute of Economy of NAS of Azerbaijan, the Economic Resources Center, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and the Turkish Economic Researches Centre.
D.Sc. of economy, professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) the director of the Institute of Economy NAS of Azerbaijan spoke about the importance of widening of application of Islamic finance on Azerbaijan resources since the beginning of the middle of 20th century, and noted that “The aim of this measure is the collection of local and foreign scientists, public figures, investors and other interested men working on the sphere of Islamic financial system for making discussions, offers, for sharing innovative thoughts and for giving recommendations on the sphere of application of Islamic finance for representative participants”.
At the meeting also spoke Mustafa Hashim Polad the co-ordinator of the office of Baku program coordination of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), Ruslan Atakishiyev the chairman of the Economic Research Center, academician Isa Habibbayli the vise-president of the NAS of Azerbaijan, academician Ziyad Samedzadeh, chairman of economic and political committee of Parliament, Vahid Ahmadov and Ali Masimli the deputies of the Parliament and others spoke about the more development of high financial market under the condition of modern competition, the widening investment opportunities, also about the importance of formalization of Islamic financial system with the aim of growing the capital tools.
At the conference has listened to the speech on the theme of the role of Islamic finance in the guarantee of investment of small and mid-size entrepreneurship, the development of Islamic banking in Azerbaijan: opportunities and perspectives, the Islamic banking development perspectives in non-Islamic countries, the development of Islamic banking and perspectives of application in Azerbaijan, the financing opportunities of leasing activity with the products of Islamic banking.
