On May 5, 2026, an international scientific and practical conference on "Towards the Fifth Industrial Revolution - the role, challenges and opportunities of universities" was held at the Azerbaijan Technological University (ATU), dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event was held with the participation of 25 countries, 88 universities, 22 research institutes and a number of state and private enterprises. 767 theses (154 from abroad) were accepted into the conference proceedings. Leading researcher of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, Associate Professor Emin Mammadzadeh participated in the conference online and delivered a report on "Development directions of the national innovation system".
