Prof. Nazim Muzaffarli, director general of MSE Institute of Economics, opened the event with an introductory speech. Ali Nuriyev spoke about his productive scientific activity and research as a senior researcher at the Institute of Economics and congratulated him on his jubilee. Then Professor Ali Nuriyev gave a speech on "Problems of regional policy and improvement of management system in Azerbaijan". In his report, the scientist gave a brief summary of the socio-economic development strategies adopted by our national leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, during the years of independence. Explained the conditions for the realization of the long-term strategy, such as comprehensive development of Azerbaijan and transformation into a rich and economically powerful state, announced by President Ilham Aliyev. It was noted that Azerbaijan has a great opportunity for the realization of this strategy. A. Nuriyev emphasized that for the realization of the strategy using these opportunities, it is important to focus on solving the following issues: elimination of positional differences in relation to economic-geographical zoning, improvement of administrative-territorial division and territorial (regional) system, and the level of utilization of production potential in the regions. increasing attention to balancing, increasing attention to the development of specialized, efficient and richly experienced areas of the agro-industrial complex, increasing state-entrepreneur cooperation and the organizational-regulatory role of the state in the development of these areas.
