On May 2, 2024, held the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. A number of organizational and current issues were discussed at the meeting chaired by the Director General, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli
The director general informed that Envar Ismayilli, a junior researcher of the Scientific Center for Reconstruction of Post-Conflict Territories, was appointed head of Department of the International Relations of the Institute of Economics. A. Ismayilli was included in the Scientific Council.
Scientific secretary of the Institute, D.Sc. of Economics, assoc.prof., Leyli Allahverdiyeva regarding to "29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the 19th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement for 2024 Republic of Azerbaijan Science and the action plan of the Ministry of Education" and talked about the planned events, projects, scientific discussions, seminars, researches at the Institute of Economics.
At the Scientific Council, the head of the Department of Regional Development and Natural Resources Utilization Problems of the Institute of Economics, professor Rena Sultanova, made a speech on "Efficient use of water as a global problem".
The speaker is interested in water resources and formation in Azerbaijan, main water sources, water shortage in the world and in Azerbaijan, drought problems, efficient use of water, losses, issues of irrigation of agriculture and provision of permanent clean drinking water to the population, construction of new water channels, reservoirs, in the years of independence of the state. She spoke about the works, projects, and the possibilities of effective use of the rich water resources of the territories freed from occupation.
