On April 22, 2024, held the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. A number of organizational and current issues were discussed at the meeting chaired by the Director General, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli
Scientific secretary of the Institute, D.Sc., assoc.prof., Leyli Allahverdiyeva presented the bulletin "Tourism in Azerbaijan: dynamics of recent years". The bulletin is a general analytical overview of the changes that have taken place in the field of tourism in Azerbaijan over the past years, the gained achievements and the existing development opportunities.
In order to analyze the competitiveness of the tourism sector in our country in a comparative manner, in the bulletin addition to the data of the AR State Statistics Committee (AR SSC), also referred to the statistical databases of international organizations. The source of all statistical data, including graphs and charts, not referenced in the bulletin belongs to AR SSC The analysis of the influence of indices measuring the competitiveness of tourism in different countries of the world on the economic development levels of those countries allows us to make certain conclusions.
Then the leading scientific researcher of the department "Innovative economy and digital transformation", Ph.D. Gulnara Fataliyeva presented the bulletin "Digital transformation in Azerbaijan - 2023". In the bulletin, analyzed the main directions of state regulation in the field of digital transformation of the economy in the republic, the current situation in this field, and its development characteristics.
Also, with reference to indices covering various indicators related to digital transformation, conducted comparative analyzes of the position of Azerbaijan and its neighboring countries, determined strengths and weaknesses of our country. In the end, made generalizations, regarding the acceleration of the digital transformation of the economy were given suggestions and recommendations.
During the preparation of the bulletin, used the reports and statistical data of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and various international organizations - the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the United Nations, the European Union, the International Telecommunication Union, the World Bank, and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
In the meeting, based on the presentation by the head of the Education Department, Ph.D. Ellada Khankishiyeva, approved the amount of tuition fees for admission to paid places for doctoral and Ph.D. studies of the Institute of Economics.
The composition of the Scientific Council has been changed, and a new head of department of "Economic problems of the agricultural sector", associate professor Famil Rustamov was included in the composition of the Council.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Trade Union Association assoc.prof., Parviz Hasanov congratulated employees of the Institute on the occasion of jubilee - assoc.prof., Leyli Allahverdiyeva, chief accountant Yelena Begdayeva and assoc.prof., Matanat Abdalova, wishing them success in their activities, and presented flowers to them all (economics.com.org).
