Established a temporary creative group called "West Azerbaijan Economy" at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. A decision was made on this at the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics held on March 29, 2023. This issue was widely discussed at the meeting chaired by the director general of the institute, D.Sc., professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov)
Prof. Nazim Muzaffarli said that once upon a time, Azerbaijanis were deported massively from the territory of Armenia, from their ancestral lands, from our historical lands. Currently, one of our main goals is the restoration of the violated rights of Western Azerbaijanis at the international level, studying and promotion the rich historical and cultural heritage created by the Azerbaijani people on the territory of Armenia, and preventing its complete destruction, ensuring the right of those people to return to their ancestral lands. It is known that the West Azerbaijani Community was established to achieve social and cultural unity of Azerbaijanis and their heirs deported from Armenia. On December 24, 2022, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the conditions created in the administrative building of the West Azerbaijan Community and met with a group of intellectuals from West Azerbaijan. Considering all this, we believe that the study of economy of Western Azerbaijan, and conducting scientific research in this field can be very useful for our country. Member of the Council of Intellectuals of the West Azerbaijan Community, Department head of the Institute of Economics, professor Fuad Ganbarov noted that the study of both the past and modern economy of Western Azerbaijan assumes great importance and are significant. Within the West Azerbaijan Community for this purpose, also proposed the establishment of the Economic Commission. Temporary creative group called "Western Azerbaijan Economy" at the Institute of Economics will conduct scientific research on the economy of West Azerbaijan.
Professor Fuad Ganbarov, leading researchers Tanriverdi Pasha, Nasimi Ahmadov, Chingiz Bakhish, Alasgar Sariyev, Vilayat Ramazanov and young scientific researcher Safter Velizade were included to a group of employees of the Institute of Economics (economics.com.az).
