Professor Tarbiz Aliyev, head of the department of "Problems of Regulation of Entrepreneurship and Monopoly" of the Institute, made a report on "Business Environment in Azerbaijan - 2020: Realities and Prospects" at the seminar. The researcher, who based his presentation on the World Bank's Doing Business 2020 report, provided information on its core philosophy and evaluation criteria.
The main purpose of the reforms is to ensure the sustainable development of businessmen in the business environment and further improve the position of our country in international reports; maximum ability of entrepreneurs to use services electronically; increasing the satisfaction of citizens and entrepreneurs and ensuring transparency in this area; further increasing mutual trust in public-business partnership; reducing the number of days and procedures required for business people to receive services; at a lower cost to benefit from services. As a result, a healthy competition and business environment will be formed, and a new business network will be formed that will join the global value chain in the long run. The researcher also made suggestions and recommendations for increasing the position of Azerbaijan in the World Bank's Doing Business report and further improve the business environment.
