On April 19, 2021, at the Institute of Economics of ANAS hosted a scientific seminar on the role of "ASAN service in the development of innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan"
The event was attended by employees of the Institute of Economics and the State Agency for Citizen Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as heads of a number of scientific institutions and universities, well-known scientists and heads of private companies. The event was attended by more than 100 people, including officials of a number of government agencies directly involved in the expansion of innovations in Azerbaijan, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the State Statistics Committee.
Opening the event, Director of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, D.Sc. of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli informed about the main topic of discussion and the speaker, the importance of the development of innovation ecosystem in our country and the role of the State Agency in this direction.
Deputy Chairman of the State Agency Jeyhun Salmanov made a presentation on the role of "ASAN service in the development of innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan”.
"The speaker spoke about the impact of innovation on our daily lives during the fourth industrial revolution, the latest trends in the global innovation ecosystem, the role of ASAN service in promoting the innovation ecosystem, the work done to increase the efficiency of the startup environment. J.Salmanov also gave brief information about the activities of the INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Center established by the State Agency, the taken measures, support for the development of startups, the activities of the Azerbaijan Innovation House and Tech Diaspora, the Azerbaijan 500 ASAN-Startup program.
The lecturer was asked numerous questions. Answering them, J.Salmanov shared his views on the development of the innovation ecosystem in the country, ways to improve the country's position in international rankings, the formation of the legislative framework in the field of innovation, financing innovation, prospects for local startups, increasing ICT skills in the country. Held interesting and wide-ranging discussions on all these topical issues.
Participants of the seminar, both by ASAN Agency and other organizations, repeatedly stressed that the expansion of cooperation between government agencies and science and educational institutions means very important condition for accelerating innovative development (economics.com.az).
