On November 13, 2020, the Ministry of Economy approved the Article 3.2 of the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic “On the subsistence minimum”. In order to continue the implementation of paragraph 2 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 23, 2005, "On the establishment of a minimum consumer basket in the Republic of Azerbaijan" by the order of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 16, 2020, held a meeting of the Working Group to establish the review of subsistence minimum methodology
At the meeting chaired by the Minister of Economy Sevinj Hasanova, also attended the head of department "Socio-economic problems of life standards" of the Institute of Economics of ANAS, Ph.D. in Economics, assoc.prof., Rasmiyya Abdullayeva.
The Working Group discussed the revision of the minimum consumer basket service, the transition from the expert method of calculating the subsistence minimum to the behavioral model based on the results of household budget surveys, and the definition of relative poverty in Azerbaijan (economic.com.az).
