Announced the results of the semi-final stage of the sixth "Yukselish" (Ascent) competition. Out of 326 candidates who participated in the semi-final stage, just 130 qualified for the final stage. Among them are doctoral students of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education.
Thus, graduates of the doctoral program of the Institute of Economics - Simnar Pashazadeh (scientific supervisor is Professor Fuad Ganbarov) and Javid Abdullayev (scientific supervisor Associate Professor is Mahir Zeynalov), as well as Javad Aliyev, who is currently studying for a doctoral degree (scientific supervisor is Professor Nazim Muzaffarli), advanced to the final stage of the competition.
During the three-day semi-final stage of the "Yukselish" competition, candidates were assessed by experts on 9 competencies. The assessment covered strategic thinking, effective leadership, decision-making, results orientation, performance management, adaptability, innovative thinking, teamwork and collaboration, ethics and integrity.
The number of participants who passed the final stage at the doctoral/postgraduate level was 14. 12 of them received their education in Azerbaijan and 2 of them abroad. The participants who successfully completed the stage gained the right to participate in the final stage of the sixth "Yukselish" competition.
According to the analysis conducted by age groups, the highest rate among the candidates who qualified for the final stage was recorded in the age range of 21-30. 64 of the finalists were between 21-30 years old, 63 were between 31-40 years old, and 3 were between 41-51 years old.
According to the results by economic regions, the highest indicator was recorded in Baku. 77 candidates from the capital city qualified for the final stage. Among other economic regions, 8 candidates from the East Zangezur economic region, 7 from the Absheron-Khizi economic region, 7 from the Shirvan-Salyan economic region, and 6 from the Sheki-Zagatala economic region advanced to the final stage.
Based on the distribution of participants by sectors of activity, 47.47 percent of the candidates who advanced to the final stage represent the public sector, 48.73 percent represent the private sector, 1.90 percent represent non-governmental organizations, and 1.90 percent represent international organizations.
The final stage of the competition will be held on July 17-19.
The "Yukselish" competition was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated July 26, 2019. The winners of the competition receive a one-year personal development plan and a cash prize of 20,000 manats for self-development by mentors (economics.org.az).
