On June 8-10, 2026, a group of employees of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education visited the Agdash region within the framework of the "Strategic Socio-Economic Development Directions of Agdash region" project.
At the meeting with Ali Karimov, Head of Department of Socio-Economic and Architectural-Construction Issues at the Executive Power of Agdash Region, held extensive discussions on research and organizational issues within the project. The coordinator of the project, head of the department of the Institute of Economics, Professor Terbiz Aliyev provided information on the work done on scientific research on the project and the planned measures. The project researchers - Assoc. Prof. Mahir Zeynalov, Assoc. Prof. Tariyel Gurbanov, Ph.D Vilayat Ramazanov, also head of sector of the Executive Power of the region, agrarian issues specialist Khanmusa Ahmadov participated in the discussions.
The researchers of the Institute of Economics met with Elshan Abdullayev, the head of the Regional Statistics Office in Agdash, Farhad Aliyev, the director of the Agdash State Agrarian Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, and Sani Mammadov, the head of the Central Aran Regional Division of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Yevlakh.
During these meetings, held extensive discussions and exchange of views on research conducted within the framework of the "Strategic Socio-Economic Development Directions of the Agdash Region" project, specific projects, ideas, business environment, attraction of investments, local conditions and potential opportunities related to the development of local industry, agriculture, and the service sector.
Researchers from the Institute of Economics got acquainted with the activities of the “Turyanchay” farm operating in the Agdash region. Specialists of the local enterprises provided information on the farm’s main areas of activity, production and services, employees, raw material supply, use of modern technologies, main features of the local market, conditions and potential opportunities, investments, competitive environment, sales organization, state support, and etc., also talked about the main problems they face, expressed their wishes and desires (economics.org.az).
