On May 8, 2026, at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education held an event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev
The event was attended by the institute's leadership, scientists and researchers.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the beloved National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Then presented a video clip reflecting the life and activities of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
At the event, the Director General of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli, said that Heydar Aliyev is the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state. He noted that as a result of the far-sighted policy of the National Leader, political stability was ensured in the country, the traditions of national statehood were strengthened, and created the foundations of economic development. The Director General emphasized that at the present day the development strategy determined by Heydar Aliyev and still forms the basis of the sustainable progress of the Azerbaijani state.
The Director General also said that today President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the political course of the National Leader. According to him, the significant political and economic successes achieved by Azerbaijan in recent years, the growth of the country's international reputation, also the large-scale restoration and construction work carried out in the liberated territories are indicators of the successful continuation of the Heydar Aliyev’s political school.
N. Muzaffarli noted that the implementation of modern infrastructure projects in the liberated territories, the construction of new cities and villages, the reshaping of industrial and agricultural potential demonstrate Azerbaijan's strong economic capabilities and the strategic nature of state policy. The reconstruction of Karabakh and East Zangezur can be considered the beginning of a new stage in the socio-economic development of our country.
Corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Shahbaz Muradov spoke about the attention and care that Heydar Aliyev paid to the development of Azerbaijani science, education and national intellectual potential. The professor said that during the reign of the National Leader, were taken important steps to strengthen the activities of scientific research institutions, training of highly qualified personnel and formation of national scientific schools.
Sh. Muradov noted that the basis of Heydar Aliyev's statehood philosophy was the protection of national interests, the establishment of a strong economy and improvement of people's well-being. According to him, this political course is currently being successfully continued by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and serves the comprehensive development of the country.
Other participants who spoke at the event also spoke about Heydar Aliyev's unparalleled services to the people and state of Azerbaijan, noting that his rich political legacy is an important example for future generations.
