Held a meeting on occasion of the 68th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. Founded on April 14, 1958, and so that April 14 is also celebrated as "Institute Day" every year at the Institute of Economics.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Director General of the MSE Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli spoke about the history of the Institute's establishment, its glorious path of development, its contributions to Azerbaijani economic science and the country's economy, and conducted fundamental research works. He noted that during the years of independence, the Institute of Economics has carried out successful and significant scientific and research works towards the formation and development of an independent national economy of Azerbaijan, and has provided important services in the field of training professional national personnel. Being a center of fundamental science in Azerbaijan, it has produced a generation of well-known economists in the country. Characterizing the Institute of Economics as the flagship of Azerbaijani economic science, the main center of economic research, and an assistant to the government in economic matters, Prof. N. Muzaffarli noted the main goals, tasks, and important results made by the Institute, as well as the projects successfully implemented jointly with government agencies and the fulfillment of state orders.
At the meeting, the head of the department of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Shahbaz Muradov, young scientific researcher, senior scientific researcher, Ph.D Aygun Tahmazli, head of the Staff department Yulduz Aliyeva, a chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Ph.D Elnur Zeynalov made a speech about the role, position and importance of the Institute in the development of economic science in Azerbaijan, also its rich historical development path. In addition to highly evaluating the activities of the Institute, they wished our employees success in their future scientific researches.
Prof. Shahbaz Muradov shared his memories of the Institute and spoke about the path taken by the employees during the long period of his work here, scientific research works, personnel training, major achievements, and the work done in the field of development of the economy and economic science in the country.
Young researchers Aygun Tahmazli and Elnur Zeynalov particularly noted their successful doctoral studies at the Institute, their scientific works here, the defense of their Ph.D scientific degree, the support of the employees and management in their formation as young scientists, the transparent organization of these processes, and the favorable conditions created for young scientific researchers.
Attending the event, associate professor Jalil Guliyev, an elderly economist who worked at the Institute of Economics for many long years, was the head of the department, wrote valuable works, and will soon celebrate his 90th anniversary, spoke, shared his memories, and congratulated the entire staff on the occasion of "Institute Day".
It was noted that at the event that the Institute of Economics is aimed to further advance its mission as the flagship of Azerbaijani economic science. Its strategic goals are to become a real center of fundamental economic research in Azerbaijan, the main coordinator of economic research, a collegial expert and advisor to the government in the near future.
