Held an event dedicated to the commemoration of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education.
First, the dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Director General of the Institute of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli spoke about the rich political activity of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that Heydar Aliyev, who skillfully led the country from chaos and crisis to the path of development, raised Azerbaijani politics, economy, and culture to a high level and strengthened statehood. Modern independent Azerbaijan is the Heydar Aliyev's masterpiece. President Ilham Aliyev continues his path with great success today, and the liberation of our Karabakh lands from the Armenian occupation is a logical result of the continuation of Heydar Aliyev's course. Heydar Aliyev as a founding and savior statesman will forever live in the memory of the Azerbaijani people.
Corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Shahbaz Muradov characterized Heydar Aliyev as the National Leader, the great son of our people, and the architect of modern Azerbaijan. He noted that the Azerbaijani people are happy that they had humanity such a brilliant personality as Heydar Aliyev in the 20th century. In June 1993, when our republic was in a difficult situation, Heydar Aliyev's return to political power at the insistent request of our people saved Azerbaijan and our people as a whole from disaster and began the salvation of our state. As a result of the Great Leader's hard work, competence, great organizational skills, far-sighted domestic and foreign policy, socio-political stability was restored in Azerbaijan, was developed a new oil strategy, signed the "Contract of the Century" etc. Over the past 22 years, President Ilham Aliyev has further developed the economic growth strategy defined by Heydar Aliyev, bringing Azerbaijan among the world's leading countries, and its level of economic development has entered a qualitatively new stage. For all this, the people of Azerbaijan are always grateful to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, pray for his soul, and ask God Almighty for mercy.
Other speakers made a speech on the historical legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, his role in the formation of national ideology and the development of Azerbaijani statehood, his work in the socio-economic development of the country, his innovations in the fields of science, culture and education, also the strategic steps he took for the welfare of the people (economics.org.az).
