On May 12, 2025, held a traditional Scientific Seminar at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. At the event, chaired by the scientific secretary of the institute, Doctor of Economic Sciences Leyli Allahverdiyeva, head of department “Monetary and Fiscal Regulation Problems”, Doctor of Economic Sciences Yashar Mammadov made a presentation on “Development of the Stock Market in Azerbaijan”.
The speaker made a presentation on the formation and development of the stock market in Azerbaijan, the impact of this sector on the economy, stock markets in developed countries of the world, compared them with our country, and noted the main problems and shortcomings of the local securities market. He drew attention to issues such as the population's attitude to the stock market, the issue of trust in the market, financial literacy, infrastructure and digitalization, and expensive services.
The bulletin "Development of the Stock Market in Azerbaijan" prepared by Y. Mammadov covers the main changes, achievements and development opportunities that have occurred in the stock market in Azerbaijan in recent years in a general analytical manner. Reflected a comparative analysis of the current state and competitiveness of the stock market on a national and international scale.
The analysis used official data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Statistical Committee (SSC), as well as statistical databases of international financial organizations.
The graphs, diagrams, and statistical indicators provided in the bulletin allow for comparisons based on international experience, covering not only Azerbaijan but also foreign countries. This is important for analyzing global and national development trends in the stock market.
