On March 3, 2025, held a traditional scientific seminar at the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education.
At the seminar, chaired by Professor Nazim Muzaffarli, the head of Department of Mathematical Support of Economic Researches of the Institute of Economics, PhD, associate professor Ravana Asadova made a report on “Dynamic econometric models”.
The speaker provided detailed information about dynamic econometric models (AR, ARMA, ARIMA, SAR, SARMA, SARIMA, ARDL, DLR, VAR, SVAR, VEC, etc.), their types and conditions for establishment, selection of a suitable model, criteria for testing its quality and stability. She stated that dynamic econometric models are statistical models built to study how economic processes change over time and predict future behavior using past data. The effects of economic changes are often not immediately felt and these effects manifest themselves with a certain delay. Dynamic models allow us to take these delayed effects into account. Dynamic models are also used to assess the interactions and cause-and-effect relationships between variables, to predict future trends, and to make more accurate long- and short-term forecasts.
The speaker provided extensive information on the types of univariate and multivariate dynamic models, and also presented model examples based on the reports of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Statistical Committee.
At the end, held an extensive discussion around the topic and were answered questions (economics.org.az).
