On April 9, 2026, held a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education. A number of issues were discussed at the meeting, chaired by Director General, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli.
Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor, Allahyar Muradov, a department head of the Institute of Economics, made a presentation on improving the activities of the journal "Economic Growth and Social Welfare". He noted that there is a need to improve this scientific publication, which has been published for many years. He gave broad information on new conditions for publishing scientific articles in the journal, new requirements and standards in line with international challenges, quality improvement, referring issues, transparency and ethical rules, the main stages of the publication process, especially sending articles for review. He noted that the journal's website will be improved technically.
Then, at the Scientific Council held discussions on improving the activities of the journal “Economic Growth and Social Welfare”. Approved the member of the editorial board of the journal and Assoc. Prof. A. Muradov was appointed as the deputy editor-in-chief of the journal. Institute’s employees Javanshir Burhanzade and Gulnar Gadirova were included in the technical and coordinating staff of the journal.
Leyli Allahverdiyeva, Scientific Secretary of the Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economic Sciences, gave broad information to the members of the Scientific Council about the "Code of Scientific Ethics" approved by the Coordinating Council for Scientific Research of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The "Code of Scientific Ethics" approved by the Scientific Research Coordination Council provides for extensive measures against violations of the principles of academic integrity. The "Code of Scientific Ethics" applies to dissertations, scientific articles and other publications, data and databases collected during research, software, code and algorithms, laboratory and field notes, grant and project reports, presentations and other scientific materials reflecting the results of research (economics.org.az).
