A memorandum on cooperation in the field of education, science and advanced training has been signed between the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC)
The signing ceremony held at AzUAC was attended by the rector of the university, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, and the Director General of the Institute of Economics, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli, also delegations from both institutions.
The Memorandum meant to expand mutual cooperation between the two institutions in the fields of scientific researches, innovation, personnel training, industrial experience and employment. The document assumes great importance in terms of combining the scientific and academic potential of the parties, implementing joint projects, supporting the scientific activities of master's and Ph.D. students, including the practical application of economic and urban planning-oriented research works.
Within the framework of cooperation, the main directions have been identified as conducting joint scientific research works, organizing symposiums and conferences, preparing scientific publications, using scientific and analytical results in the educational process, and joint participation in international projects.
The rector of AzUAC, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova, said in her speech that the modern university model should not be limited with teaching only, but should be built on close ties with science, innovation and production: "This Memorandum we signed with the Institute of Economics serves to more closely integrate the scientific potential of AzUAC with economic research. Today, issues of architecture, urban planning, infrastructure and sustainable development are unimaginable without economic analysis. This cooperation will open up new opportunities for the scientific development of both young researchers and Ph.D. and master's students."
The rector emphasized that AzUAC attaches special importance to support scientific initiatives in line with the country's socio-economic development priorities and expanding strategic partnerships with science-intensive enterprises.
Providing information about the scientific activities of the Institute of Economics, the conducted fundamental research works, and projects implemented on the basis of state orders, Director General, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli highly appreciated the potential and scientific environment of AzUAC and said that this cooperation will strengthen the access of research in the field of economics to real areas of application: "Cooperation with AzUAC is of particular importance to us. "The implementation of research in the fields of infrastructure, regional development, urban economy and sustainable planning on a scientific basis and with a practical approach is one of the main goals of this memorandum. We aim to strengthen the integration of scientific knowledge into real decision-making processes through joint projects."
After the speeches, held discussions between the parties, with the participation of delegations. During the meeting, exchanged views on further deepening the existing cooperation through this memorandum, preparing action plans for specific projects, and establishing long-term partnership mechanisms (economics.org.az).
